Urban Group awarded GPA Contract to manage
55 Government Properties in NT

Urban Group, the Property Asset and Facility Management arm of NWS Holdings (0659), was appointed today by the Government Property Agency (GPA) to manage 55 government properties in the New Territories region for the coming 3 years.
GPA has recently arranged new tenders for property management services for government properties in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories under 3 major contracts to invite private property management companies to provide services to their properties.
Urban Group has successfully obtained the property management services contract for the New Territories region and will start managing the properties and facilities from 1st April 2004. Among the properties have 14 Government Offices and Buildings, 25 Government Quarters and 16 other major facilities including Tsuen Wan Government Offices, Shatin Government Offices, Lai King Disciplined Services Quarters, Prince of Wales Hospital Staff Quarters and Tuen Mun Government Storage Centre etc. The Contract Signing Ceremony was held on 19th March 2004 at the GPA Headquarters in the Revenue Tower in Wanchai.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "Urban Group has already started our partnership with GPA since 1991 and has since then gained substantial experiences in managing its properties and facilities. In 2001, we were awarded the property management services contract to manage 50 government properties in the Hong Kong Island for GPA. During the contract period, our staff endeavours to provide the best services for the properties. We trust that our synergistic experiences in managing government properties will enable us to provide the best management services to the users of the New Territories properties."
