2003 HKMA Quality Award - Overall Winner
Urban Group attends "Leveraging the Power of Integrated Management Systems
& the Performance Excellence Model Symposium" &
"China-Hong Kong Productivity & Quality Awards Winner Sharing Symposium"

Following the "China Quality Award Winners Presentation 2003" in Beijing last year, Urban Group, a subsidiary of NWS Holdings Limited (0659), was invited to attend "From Good to Great - Leveraging the Power of Integrated Management Systems & the Performance Excellence Model in Hong Kong and the Mainland Symposium" and "China-Hong Kong Productivity & Quality Awards Winners Sharing Symposium & 2004 Hong Kong Award for Services: Productivity Winners Showcase", to share their winning strategies in becoming the "Overall Winner of 2003 HKMA Quality Award" with the quality enterprises in Hong Kong and from the Mainland China.

Both symposiums were organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC). The "Leveraging the Power of Integrated Management Systems & the Performance Excellence Model in Hong Kong and the Mainland Symposium" was held on 12th March at the HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong, which was attended by over 70 corporate leaders and senior executives from various industries to share the experiences in implementing the Integrated Management System and the Performance Excellence Models.

Whereas the "China-Hong Kong Productivity & Quality Awards Winners Sharing Symposium" was held on 16th March at the Langham Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, when more than 130 representatives from the Winners of the China Quality Awards from the Mainland China and the Hong Kong Awards for Services: Productivity sat together to share and exchange their success factors and best practices in quality excellence and service productivity.

Apart from Urban Group, attendees of the "China-Hong Kong Productivity & Quality Awards Winners Sharing Symposium" include Winners of the China Quality Award 2003 Dazhong Transportation (Group) Co. Ltd.; Wulianye Group Co. Ltd. of Yibin, Sichuan; China and Yanzhou Coal Mining Co. Ltd. Together with the 5 Winners in the 2003 Hong Kong Award for Services: Productivity: the Water Supplies Department; Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd.; Canossa Hospital (Caritas); Kuehne & Nagel (Asia Pacific) Management Ltd and Securicor Hong Kong Holdings Ltd.

Mr. Edmund Sung, Branch Director, Services & Business Branch of HKPC said, "The aim of the 2 Symposiums is to provide the attendees with the best case studies from both local and China enterprises. Also, through establishing the 'Hong Kong Award for Services: Productivity Awards', HKPC is striving to enhance the competitiveness of the local service industry and contributes to the sustainable growth of our economy."

Urban Group was the only representative among the Overall Winners of the HKMA Quality Award to join the symposiums. In 2003, the Group has received outstandingly 140 major corporate awards, which include: Best Employer in Hong Kong Award; 2003 Best Property Management Agent Award; and the HKIFM Facility Management Establishment Award, ascertaining their excellent achievements in implementing total quality management.
