Urban Group and 6 properties under its management obtain Eco-Business Awards
and Wastewi$e Certification

Urban Group, the Largest Property Asset and Facility Management Group in Hong Kong obtained two Green Property Management Awards and 6 Wastewi$e Certifications in the 2003 Hong Kong Eco-Business Awards.
Rhythm Garden in San Po Kong and Lei King Wan under Urban Group were awarded the Certificate of Merit in the Green Property Management Award (Private Housing) with their outstanding standard in green property management, while Urban Group together with 4 properties including Mei Foo Sun Chuen, Aldrich Garden in Sau Kei Wan, Harbour Heights and Park Vale in North Point were awarded the Wastewi$e Certification, recognizing the contribution of the various properties in waste reduction and management.
The Eco-Business Awards is jointly organized by the Environmental Campaign Committee, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Productivity Council to encourage, promote and give public recognition to organizations in adopting green practices in their business operations. The Green Property Management (Private Housing) Award was to recognize the contribution of property management companies in building up a green environment.
The Wastewi$e Scheme, organized by the Environmental Protection Department with the Hong Kong Productivity Council acting as the Wastewi$e Advisor, is aiming to help Hong Kong organizations reduce and manage the waste produced and to provide free professional advice and reward them for their significant efforts and contributions.
According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, "We launched our unique Urban Premier Management Model™ in 2002 in which Green Lifestyle is one of our core drivers. We emphasize our commitment to provide a cost effective and quality green lifestyle to our customers. We established our Green Care Committee in 2001 with the goals of Environmental Care and Green Lifestyle and set up our Premier Environment Care Strategies, which leads Urban to obtain the ISO 14001 Quality Certification in environmental management in 2003."
Dr Cheng emphasized, "Our Total Environmental Care Policy has been recognized by the society as well as our 1,000,000 quality customers. Our staff will continue to actively promote the Green Care Concept to our customers in our 320 properties to protect our natural resources."
