Urban Group 95 "Warriors" receive Eastern District Outstanding Security Guards Award

Ninety-five security guards in properties under the management of Urban Group received the "Eastern District Outstanding Security Guards Award", enabling Urban to become the major winner in the competition with the largest number of security personnel being awarded.
The Eastern District Outstanding Security Guards Commendation Scheme was jointly organized by the Eastern District Council, the Eastern District Office of the Home Affairs Department and the Hong Kong Police Force (Eastern District), aiming to appraise those diligent security guards in the District with outstanding performance in 2003. Winners of award were well deserved as all contestants were nominated by owners' representatives of the properties together with recommendations from individual owners as well as the Police Force.

The 95 awarded security personnel came from 5 properties in the Eastern District under the service of Urban Group namely Lei King Wan (43 guards), Aldrich Garden (22 guards) and Tung Chun Court (8 guards) in Shaukeiwan as well as Harbour Height (12 guards) and Park Vale (10 guards) in North Point, making Urban to obtain the largest number of awards in this competition.

According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, "To Urban Group, the frontline security personnel is one of our most important human capitals. They are the gatekeeper for the properties, who not only assist us to protect the wealth and live of the property owners, but most importantly, also help us to maintain the asset value of the building, which may cost millions of dollars."

Through introducing the brand new approach of 'Property Asset Management', we have successfully transmitted our Total Quality Management concept to the frontline management and security personnel."

Dr Cheng said, "With outstandingly 95 security guards being awarded in this competition, it reflects that our customers have experienced our ever-improving high standard of service quality for them."

Urban Group received totally 140 major awards in 2003, which include: the HKMA Quality Award - Overall Winner; Best Employer in Hong Kong Award; 2003 Best Property Management Agent presented by Hong Kong Housing Authority; and the Facility Management Establishment Award presented by Hong Kong Facility Management Association, ascertaining its excellent achievements in implementing Total Quality Management.
