Park Vale and Harbour Heights under Urban Group
obtain Wastewi$e Certification from EPD

Two residential properties at the Eastern District under Urban Group obtained
the Wastewi$e Certification from the Environmental Protection Department in
December 2003, recognizing the contribution of the two properties in waste reduction
and management.
The Wastewi$e Scheme is organized by the Environmental Protection Department
with the Hong Kong Productivity Council acting as the Wastewi$e Advisor, who
is responsible for the co-ordination, assessment and provision of assistance
to companies joining the scheme. The objectives of the Scheme is to help Hong
Kong organizations reduce and manage the waste produced, provide free professional
advice and reward them for significant efforts and contributions.
According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, "We strive to pursue our corporate social responsibility by promoting the Green Care Concept to our customers to protect our natural resources. We launched our unique Urban Premier Management Model? in 2002 in which Green Lifestyle is one of our core drivers. We emphasize our commitment to provide a cost effective and quality green lifestyle to our customers."
Dr Edmond Cheng continues, "We established our Green Care Committee in 2001 with the goals of Environmental Care and Green Lifestyle and set up our Premier Environment Care Strategies, which leads Urban to obtain the ISO 14001 Quality Certification in environmental management in 2003."
Under the encouragement and support of Urban Group and the owners' representatives of the two properties, the Estate Management Office of Harbour Heights and Park Vale has respectively been organizing various environmental, green care and waste reduction activities for the residents such as Green Fun Fair, Creation from Waste Competition, Eco-tour and Visits to the Mai Po Natural Reserve. Moreover, they have worked with the Environmental Protection Department and other green organizations to conduct Used Clothes Recycling Campaigns, Visits to Mobile Environmental Resources Centre and the Green Station.
