Urban Group participates in World Environment Day 2003 - Green Trail Walks

Thirty staff and their family members of the Urban Group participated in the World Environment Day 2003 - Green Trail Walks under the banner " Walking for a Green and Health Hong Kong" organized by The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) in June 2003 to promote both the environmental care and healthy living.

As part of the World Environment Day festivities, ECC has designed 30 odd routes Green Trails Walks in 18 districts of Hong Kong. District Councils, green groups as well as public and private organizations have all been invited to help organize the walks. In addition, all Hong Kong citizens are encourages to choose their own routes for Green Trail Walk to echo this event which lasted for one to three hours.

Urban Group's Deputy Managing Director Mr P C Lau said, "Urban Group is taking the lead in encouraging its staff members to join various environmental activities over the year. By participating this outdoor event, it not only can address our concern about staying healthy, the walks also help us to appreciate the environment so as to strengthen our team spirit."

Green Lifestyle is one of the 7 Core Drivers of our "Urban Premier Managementa Model" Launched by Urban in September 2002. It emphasizes on establishing a cost effective and quality green lifestyle for their customers to build up Hong Kong as a Green City. Over the years, Urban Group has been actively participating in various environmental activities, such as green walks, tree planting and waste recycling.

In July 2003, Urban Group was awarded the Overall Winner in the 2003 HKMA Quality Award by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) to ascertain its outstanding achievements in promoting total quality management in the Hong Kong property and facility management industry. The HKMA Quality Award is the highest honour in quality management in the territory.
