Urban Group establishes Crisis Communications Centre to help preventing Atypical Pneumonia

¡@¡@The recent spread of atypical pneumonia has already caused a few lives in Hong Kong. Urban Group, as Hong Kong's Largest Property and Facility Management Company, distributes 40,000 hygienic masks to their customers at properties under its management to help preventing the disease from spreading in the properties, so as to ensure a safe, clean and hygienic living environment for its customers.

¡@¡@In order to ensure its customers as well as its staff members to obtain correct information relating to the disease as well as to avoid rumours, the company has set up The Urban Group Crisis Communication Centre to oversee and control the dissemination of information and coordinate a series of preventative measures such as preparing standardized circulars in prominent locations of properties to remind residents on personal hygiene and to adopt proper measures to safeguard themselves from contracting the disease.

¡@¡@Managing Director of Urban Group Dr Edmond Cheng pointed out that, "Urban Group is committed to 'Community Care'. Under such critical moment, we have implemented a number of crisis management policies and have joined hands with our 'Quality Partners' including our cleaning service contractors to strengthen the hygienic measures and cleaning services on the common areas of the properties to prevent the spread of the disease. Besides, we distribute hygienic masks to our staff members and customers and issue safety guidelines to them, in a way to protect the occupational safety and health of our staff as well as providing extra protection for our customers."

¡@¡@Dr Edmond Cheng continued, "Besides, we have established 'The Urban Group Crisis Communications Centre' to centralize the dissemination of the relevant information regarding the issue. We also prepare standard notices and guidelines to staff members and our customers and to strengthen our communications with various Government departments and medical organizations."
