Urban Group obtained "2003 Hong Kong Quality Circle Award"

　　Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Quality Management Association (HKQMA) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), the 10th Hong Kong Quality Management Convention cum the 2003 Hong Kong Quality Circle Award Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on 26 March 2003 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, with an aim to promote quality management practices in Hong Kong.

　　According to Mr. Edmund Sung, Branch Director (Services and Business) of HKPC, "The theme of this year's Convention is 'Value Creation through Quality'. Quality Circle activities not only source a wide array of quality among the manufacturing and construction sectors, but they also apply to the service industry in Hong Kong. We aim to assist organizations to obtain quality management know-how to meet the challenges of the 21st Century by enhancing both the quality in management systems in the pursuit of performance excellence."

　　2002-2003 is the "Quality Enhancement Year" of the Urban Group. In order to show the total commitment of all their staff members to TQM, they have set up Service Enhancement Team (SETs) to propose innovative ideas for the improvement of their service provisions.

　　According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of the Urban Group, "We cascade our 21st Century TQM Approach to all level of staff within the company to indoctrinate them with Urban Group's quality culture, mindset and values. We aim at providing a Six-star Standard to our customers through continuously improving our service quality."

　　Dr Edmond Cheng emphasized, "Urban Group's TQM Approach requests all our staff members to provide innovative, cost-effective and high quality services to our customers so as to exceed their expectation."

　　As a member of NWS Holdings, Urban Group is the Largest Property and Facility Management Company in the territory. Apart from managing properties for the private property owners, Urban is also a major management service supplier of the Hong Kong SAR Government to manage a large portfolio of public projects for the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Government Property Agency including public rental housing estates, HOS and PSPS projects, government offices and quarters, and various public facilities.
