Urban Group wins 3 major "Green Property Management Awards" from HKHA to become HK's Premier Green Manager

Urban Group, a member of NWS Holdings, provides the best property and facility management services for the people of Hong Kong through emphasizing a "Green Lifestyle" for its clients. The company devises their green policies and implements various environmental care activities in their portfolio.

Following the corporate direction of their parent company NWS Holdings, Urban Group's environmental care efforts achieved good results in the past six months by winning 12 major awards from various organizations. In March this year, 3 public rental housing estates managed by Urban won the "Green Property Management Award" organized by the HK Housing Authority (HKHA), showing their strengths in environmental management.

The "Green Property Management Award" is jointly organized by the Housing Department, the Conservancy Association, Friends of the Earth and the Green Power to promote green management initiatives in public housing estates and to recognize the contribution and efforts of the private property management companies in environmental protection. The assessment of the competition was based on the commitment of the estates to Green Leadership, Programme and Performance as well as Synergetic Partnership.

Three estates managed by the Urban Group including Chung On Estate in Ma On Shan, Un Chau Estate in Cheung Sha Wan, Oi Tung Estate in Shau Kei Wan had undergone 3 rounds of assessments by the organizer. Eventually, Chung On Estate was awarded 2nd Runner-up in the Property Services Company Category, while Un Chau Estate and Oi Tung Estate respectively received the Certificate of Merit in the Property Management Agent and Property Services Company Categories.

The Prizes Presentation of the "Green Property Management Award" was held on Friday, 14th March 2003 at the Headquarters of HKHA. During the prize presentation Ceremony, Deputy Director of the Housing Department Mr Lau Kai-hung expected that the experience of private property management companies could be widely applied to the management of public housing estates so as to enable a sustainable improvement of the environment and to provide a quality lifestyle for the people of Hong Kong.
