Urban Group participates in Community Chest NT Walk for Million

Over thirty staff and their family members of the Urban Group participated in the New Territories Walk 2003 organized by The Community Chest on 2nd March 2003 to raise fund for the " Services for the Disabled" supported by the Chest. The fund collected will enable them to look forward to a better life and a brighter future.

Urban Group's staff members assembled for the New Territories Walk in a lightened spirit at the Sha Tin Racecourse, walked through the Hong Kong Sports Institute and the scenic spots along the Shing Mun River Promenade and reached the Shatin Park, completing the journey of 6 kilometres in around 2 hours. All were presented the Certificate of Merit by The Community Chest to thank for their support.

Urban Group's Managing Director Dr Edmond Cheng said, " As a socially concerned professional management group, Urban encourages our staff members to participate in various kinds of community activities o enhance our corporate citizenship. I am pleased to see that a substantial number of our staff participated in the New Territories Walk organized by the Community Chest. We will continue to participate in various kinds of community services in future to promote our Core Value of Community Care and to lend support to those in need.

Urban Group actively supported and participated in various kinds of community services over the years. The Group is taking the led in encouraging its staff members to join various community and voluntary services so as to help the people in need. Apart from joining various fund - raising event of The Community Chest, Urban also joined the " Volunteer - chains Across Borders" organized by the Social Welfare Department, motivating their staff members to help those needy people both in Hong Kong and all over the world. Moreover, Urban Group has established its "Community Care Team" in October 2002 to take part in various corporate social responsibility activities through corporate volunteering.

Currently, Urban Group has over 3,500 staff members serving more than 600,000 customers in the territory. The company has been following the corporate direction of its parent company NWS Holdings to actively contribute to the well being of the society and provides quality management services to the Hong Kong people.
