NWS Holdings' subsidiary devoted to corporate social responsibilities
'Urban Group Premier Walkers' participated in 3 major charitable events

Hong Kong's Premier Property and Facility Management Company Urban Group always strives to achieve its Core Value of Community Care. Over the past few months, Urban has participated in 3 major charitable events to resonate the corporate citizenship of its parent company NWS Holdings and leads the industry to establish a harmonious society.

In October 2002, Urban Group established a team of devoted "Urban Premier Walkers" from their 3,500 staff to practice and prepares for various social events.

Firstly, four "Urban Premier Walkers" participated in the Trailwalker 2002 organized by Oxfam Hong Kong between the 8th and 10th of November 2002 to become the only property and facility management company to join the event. They successfully completed the 100-kilometre trip in 29 hours and 45 minutes, which had shown their consistence and devotion to social services during the tough journey.

Whereas on the 31st of December 2002, twelve "Urban Premier Walkers" joined the "Run with your Heart" activity jointly organized by the Friends of the HK Sports Institute (HKSI), the HK Sports Development Board and the Social Welfare Department. Outstandingly, the "Urban Premier Walkers" had completed a total of 391 lapses in the sports playground of the HKSI within the 12 hours charitable marathon relay.

Moreover, on 22nd February 2003, another team of four "Urban Premier Walkers" took part in the Green Power Hike presented by the environmental protection advocate Green Power and completed a trip of 50 kilometres charitable walk from the Peak to the Big Wave Bay in the Hong Kong Island to raise fund for the green organization.

According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, "Urban Group actively participates in the charitable activities organized by various organizations. Our staff members not only can commit to our corporate citizenship that contribute to the community, but also can benefit themselves in term of satisfaction and the cultivation of an optimistic attitude to face the challenge and the difficulties of the Hong Kong economy ahead."

Totally, Urban Group has raised over HK$40,000 throughout these 3 events to help those people in need.
