Urban Group jointly organized the 2019 Caring Day under the theme of “Active Citizens Enjoy Vitality Lifestyle” with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (YMCA) on 14th December, 2019. 112 corporate volunteers of Urban Group accompanied 100 elderly to participate in interesting and modern sports activities at Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp. Moreover, they played friendly games to increase excitement during workout to build up team spirit and have healthy lifestyle together.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, Mr. Lai Yu, Principal Programme Secretary of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chai Wan Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, corporate volunteers and elderly officiated the Kick-off Ceremony of Caring Day 2019 together. It symbolizes the beginning of vitality lifestyle to encourage elderly having sports, nevertheless, Urban Group demonstrated the Group’s core values especially “Caring” and “Passion” in the collaborations with different organizations continuously. With the theme of active living, Urban’s corporate volunteers played ice-breaking game with elderly in the morning and experienced modern sports including Mölkky, Floor Curling and Laughter Yoga in the afternoon. Furthermore, the volunteers also distributed gift bags and expressed blessing to elderly.
Dr Edmond Cheng said “We have organized the Caring Day event for 7 consecutive years. This year, we have over 110 corporate volunteers to join and they are caring and passionate to work out with elderly. They are well-prepared for this event and hope all participants are having delightful and sporty weekend. Over the past 7 years, our corporate volunteers have devoted more than 13,000 hours in serving the community to help the people in need, showing our care for the community.”
Dr Cheng continued, ““In future, our 5,500 staff will continue to serve different sectors in the community t strive for our best endeavours to spread our love and care to every corner of the community”
