Urban Group (UG) received 104 awards in the presentation ceremony for “2018 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) & Hong Kong Green Organization Certification (HKGOC)”. The presentation ceremony was held on 29 April 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. At the presentation ceremony, 101 properties managed by UG were recognized as Green Organization and were awarded the HKGOC. In particular, CityOne Shatin, Rhythm Garden and EcoPark were granted the HKAEE Certificate of Merit, whereas Rhythm Garden received this Award for 3 consecutive years.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group remarked, “I am pleased that 101 properties are granted the awards. We are always responsive to fulfill corporate social responsibility with a positive attitude, implementing green policies in the workplace and participating actively in various environmental education activities. Undoubtedly, this would be an encouragement and let us work harder to have more contribution to environmental protection."
The HKAEE and the HKGOC are led by the Environmental Campaign Committee alongside the Environmental Protection Department and in conjunction with nine organizations, namely, the Advisory Council on the Environment, the Business Environment Council, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ & Exporters’ Association, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
The HKAEE is an annual award which aims to encourage businesses and organizations to adopt green management and acknowledge the efforts of leading businesses and organizations.
The HKGOC is a prestigious certification scheme with high credibility. It aims to benchmark the outstanding green performance of organizations and encourages them to sustain their environmental practices.
