5.4.7) Gold Award for Volunteer Service
Urban Group encourages staff to support the volunteer activities and spend their leisure time on contributing the society. The Group established the Community Care Committee in 2002 and cultivated the caring society spirits. In 2014, the Group volunteer teams have contributed 1058 hours of volunteer service to the community and the Gold Award for volunteer service certificate is presented by the Social Welfare Department.
The Group’s volunteer team has been actively participating in the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaigns and a number of social service activities, including cleaning and minor household repairs for the elderly and paying visit to their homes during festive seasons, scarves knitting and distribution. In addition, we are engaging in used books collection and charity sales, Green Power Hike, Trailwalker, flag sales, Community Chest fund-raising events, environmental protection activities, aiming to spread the caring message to every corner of the community.
