Care for your Staff’s Gums Health Award
7 companies under Urban Group received the Gold, Silver, Bronze and 6 major awards in the “Care for your Staff’s Gums Health” Award organized by the Department of Health in 2005, showing its emphasis on corporate occupational safety and health among staff members of the Group.
International Property Management Limited, with a campaign titled: “Teeth Floss Keeps Healthy Teeth”, the Gold Award winner will carry out a series of campaigns to promote the message of “Caring for your Teeth and Gums Health” during the coming months, which include posting up posters to promote teeth health, placing teeth floss and teeth care products in the toilets of various management offices, organizing “Gums Health Workshops” and “Teeth Care Quiz” for internal staff. As for the Silver Award and “Employer and Employees Total Participation Award” winner Urban Property Management Limited, a number of campaigns under the title of “Use Teeth Floss Everyday and Smile Bright”, will be launched including internal competition, distributing teeth floss to staff, providing tips for teeth health to staff, and promoting the message through posting up relevant posters, emails and setting up bulletin boards on “Information of Oral Health”.
Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards
Urban Group's Head Office and 13 Regional Offices under the Group received the Certificate of Merit in the "2004 Hong Kong Smoke Free Workplace Leading Company Awards" jointly organized by the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health and Radio Television Hong Kong, recognizing the achievements of the Group in implementing smoke free policies to protect the health of its staff.
As one of Hong Kong's Best Employers, Urban Group stresses on corporate social responsibility and concern about the occupational safety and health of staff. We promote a non-smoking healthy workplace for our staff so that they can enjoy working in a smoke free environment, which may uplift our morale and enhance our productivity. This is a win-win situation for both the employer and the employees."
Urban Group has been implementing a Non-smoking Policy since 1995. The policy extended to all property management offices under the Group in 1999. All staff are not allowed to smoke within the workplace as well as the transport vehicle of the company. Moreover, all visitors to the Group are encouraged to comply with the non-smoking policy of the company at all times. The Group disseminates information to all staff on topics such as the benefits of smoke free workplaces and the harmful effects of secondhand smoke so as to create a healthy and fresh environment for all staff members and their customers to project a professional image to the general public.
Occupational Safety and Health Award
In 2004, Urban Group received a total of 3 awards for Best Property Management Company in OSH in the "Competition on Best Management Company" on the "Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation" organized by the Occupational Safety & Health Council, through their implementation of quality practices of workplace safety and health.
Urban Group has maintained its pioneering position in the industry to establish its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee in 1998. The mission of the Committee is to promote Urban's occupational safety and health standards in the working place and to implement the OSH Ambassador Scheme within the company. As of April 2004, Urban Group has 110 OSH Ambassadors and all have received training organized by the OSH Council.
Certificate of Merit for Good Housekeeping Plan and Workplace Hygiene Recognition
Urban Group was awarded the "Certificate of Merit for Good Housekeeping Plan" and the "Workplace Hygiene Recognition" by the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) in 2003, to confirm their excellent achievements in providing a safe and healthy working environment for its staff and the people of Hong Kong.
These recognitions commend Urban for our implementation of the 5S principles of "Structure, Systematize, Sanities, Standardize and Self-discipline".
Urban's aim is to provide our "Quality Partners" with a clean, tidy and safe working environment to reduce the casualty rate among our staff members. Through implementing the 5S scheme, not only have we provided a safe and healthy working model for staff members, but Urban has also enhanced the "Personal Values" of our "Quality Partners". This provides a solid foundation for our provision of quality services to our customers, with the aim of exceeding their expectations.
